I am also learning English.

I had tried to learn English many times before, but I often gave up. This year, I decided that I would keep going, so I started studying again in January. Eight months have now passed.

Every morning, I wake up at 4:30, or by 5:00 at the latest, and study vocabulary, writing, reading and speaking.

I decided to study at least two pages of vocabulary every day. By reviewing the words again and again, I have gradually learned around 2,000 words.

As my vocabulary has grown, I have started to understand more of what I read in English. I am very happy to see this progress. Through this experience, I have realised how important it is to keep studying, even if I can only do a little each day.

However, continuing to learn a language is not easy. Sometimes, you may lose confidence and wonder whether you will ever be able to use the language well.

That is why I am creating an app that people can use during their free time—for example, while relaxing on the sofa at home or travelling to work or school by train or bus.

You do not need to study a lot at one time. Please try using this app to study Japanese little by little whenever you have a few free minutes.

Are you studying GENKI Lesson 2?

This free Japanese practice app helps beginners review vocabulary, numbers, shopping expressions and the grammar introduced in Lesson 2.

You can study at your own pace through vocabulary cards, simple explanations, practice activities and short quizzes.

The Free GENKI Lesson 2 App Is Now Available

I have created a new self-study app for learners studying GENKI Lesson 2.

This is the second app in my free GENKI practice series. Like the Lesson 1 app, it is designed to help learners review Japanese independently, even when a teacher is not available.

You can learn a small amount at a time and repeat the activities as many times as you need.

Who Can Use This App?

This app can be used by learners of all ages, including elementary school students, junior high school students, high school students, university students and adults.

It is especially suitable for people who:

  • Are beginning to learn Japanese
  • Are studying GENKI Lesson 2
  • Want to review what they learned in class
  • Want to study Japanese independently
  • Want to practise vocabulary and grammar repeatedly
  • Cannot read hiragana confidently yet
  • Prefer explanations in English

Japanese words are also shown in romaji. You can turn the romaji display on or off, depending on your Japanese reading level.

What You Will Learn in GENKI Lesson 2

In this app, you can review useful Japanese for shopping and everyday conversations.

You will practise:

  • Vocabulary from GENKI Lesson 2
  • Numbers and prices
  • Shopping expressions
  • これ・それ・あれ・どれ
  • この・その・あの・どの
  • ここ・そこ・あそこ・どこ
  • だれの
  • じゃないです
  • ね and よ
  • Short conversations
  • Review questions and quizzes

The activities are divided into small sections, so you do not need to study everything at once.

Learn, Practise, Take a Quiz and Review

Each section gives you several ways to study.

First, you learn the new vocabulary or grammar. Next, you practise it through different activities. After that, you take a short quiz and review any questions you found difficult.

If you make a mistake, that is okay. You can return to the explanation and try again.

The goal is not only to memorise the answers but also to understand and use Japanese in everyday situations.

Your Progress Is Saved Automatically

Your learning progress is automatically saved on the device you are using.

You can stop at any time and continue your study later. You do not need to complete the whole lesson in one day.

For example, you can complete one small section each day or study several sections when you have more time.

This app is available free of charge.

I hope it will help you review GENKI Lesson 2 and make your Japanese studies easier and more enjoyable.

GENKI Lesson 1 Is Also Available

If you have not studied Lesson 1 yet, you can also use the free GENKI Lesson 1 practice app.

【Add the GENKI Lesson 1 article link here】

You can use both apps to review vocabulary, grammar and simple Japanese conversations at your own pace.

Please Share Your Feedback

I am still learning how to create better and more helpful Japanese-learning apps.

After using the app, please let me know:

  • Which activities were easy to understand
  • Which parts were difficult
  • Whether you found anything difficult to use
  • What kinds of practice you would like me to add
  • What new features would help you study

Your feedback will help me improve this app and create better lessons in the future.

More GENKI Lessons Are Coming

Lessons 1 and 2 are now available.

I plan to continue creating apps for Lesson 3 and the following lessons. My goal is to create a complete series covering GENKI Lessons 1–12 and share the apps for free on this blog.

I will create each lesson little by little, so please visit this blog again for future updates.

Japanese-Learning Apps for Christians and Missionaries

These GENKI practice apps teach general Japanese used in everyday life.

I also plan to create Japanese-learning apps for Christians and missionaries. These apps will include Japanese words and expressions used at church, during Bible study, in prayer and in conversations with people in Christian communities.

I hope these resources will help Christians and missionaries use Japanese both in their daily lives and at church.

Please try the Lesson 2 app and enjoy learning Japanese!

This is an independently created study-support app. It is not an official app produced or endorsed by the authors or publisher of GENKI.
