About Me

Hello, and thank you for visiting my website!

My name is Akiko. I am a Christian, a Japanese language teacher, and an occupational therapist in Japan.

I studied the Bible at Christ Bible Seminary (CBS) in Nagoya. During my time there, I met not only missionaries but also people from many different countries who had come to Japan for work, along with their families and children.

Many of them were learning Japanese so they could live, work, build relationships, and communicate confidently in Japan. Some also wanted to learn Japanese for church, worship services, and Bible study.

As they asked me questions about the Japanese language and culture, I realized that learning Japanese is not only about grammar and vocabulary. It is also important to understand Japanese customs, culture, and ways of thinking. At the same time, I discovered that there were very few learning resources that combined Japanese language education with Christian expressions.

This experience inspired me to study Japanese language education after transferring to university, where I earned my qualification to teach Japanese. Since then, I have been teaching Japanese online to students from different countries.

Today, I create lessons that match each student’s individual goals. Whether they want to communicate in everyday life, work in Japan, travel, use Japanese in healthcare settings, or learn Japanese through the Bible, I enjoy helping them gain confidence while discovering the beauty of the Japanese language and culture.

Before becoming a Japanese teacher, I worked for many years as an occupational therapist in hospitals and rehabilitation settings. Because of this experience, I can also introduce practical Medical Japanese for healthcare professionals, patients, and families.

On this website, you will find practical Japanese for everyday life, work, healthcare, travel, church, worship, and Bible study.

I hope this website will be a helpful resource for everyone learning Japanese, whether you are living in Japan, planning to work in Japan, visiting Japan, or simply interested in the Japanese language and culture.

Thank you very much for visiting my website.

I hope you enjoy learning Japanese with me.

May God bless you.

Akiko
