1. What is Hiragana?
Hiragana is one of the three writing systems used in Japanese. It is the first writing system that most Japanese children learn, and it is also the best place for beginners to start learning Japanese.
There are 46 basic hiragana characters, and they are used to write Japanese sounds. Once you learn hiragana, you will be able to read many simple Japanese words and sentences.
Just like learning the alphabet in English, regular practice is the key to success.
Why Is Handwriting Practice Important?
Writing by hand helps you remember each character more easily.
Instead of only looking at the letters, your brain and your hand work together while writing. This helps improve your memory and makes it easier to recognize Japanese words when reading.
Even 10 to 15 minutes of practice each day can make a big difference.
